Global Month of Service: Le Chaînon (April 11)

This April our club will again participate in Harvard's annual Global Month of Service (GMOS) initiative. Last year we gathered a group of 10 members to donate a total of 50 hours of volunteer work to Le Chaînon, an organization supporting women in need in Montreal since 1932. Le Chaînon was so appreciative of our volunteer efforts, we've been asked to come back again!

Who: Harvard Club Members - this includes spouses, partners, and children. Due to the nature of the volunteer environment, this is an adult-only event, but adult children are welcome! There are two proposed dates; each day is able to accommodate 8 volunteers.

What: Harvard's Global Month of Service - volunteering at Le Coffre aux Tresors du Chaînon, a thrift store that powers Montreal's oldest resource centre for women.

Where: Meeting Point - Café Plume, 123 Mont Royal Ouest, Montreal. (The Plateau). We will walk to the volunteer site together from the café.

When: Two dates – Saturday, April 11 & Saturday, April 25. Please plan to arrive by 9:45am to the café or feel welcome to gather for coffee and chatting from 9am onwards.

Why: Harvard's GMOS encourages clubs to get involved in their local communities through volunteering and public service. This is an opportunity for the club to give back, it and also provides an opportunity for club members to get to know each other in a relaxed and casual setting.
