POLITICAL SPEAKER SERIES Co-Hosts:
Montreal Press Club/Harvard Club of Quebec
The U.S. Presidential Election: Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump.

Will this race forever change American politics, whoever wins? What is the fate of the Republican Party, with to without Trump? How far has Bernie Sanders pushed the Democratic Party to the left? What of the future of U.S. Foreign Policy? Free Trade (TPP/NAFTA)? And democracy as we know it?

Join us six weeks prior to Election Day (November 8). Panelists, moderated by L. IanMacDonald, Editor and Publisher of Policy Magazine, include:

John Parisella, author of La Politique Dans La Peau and Quebec's former Delegate-General in New York
« I have been doing analysis and commentary on US politics since the Bush-Gore campaign of 2000. In addition, I have embedded myself as an organizer/volunteer in campaigns conducted during the New Hampshire primary (2000, 2004, 2008 with Obama campaign ) and the general election (2004, 2008, 2012) to better comprehend the political ground game. In the course of these years, I have co-authored 2 books with Professor Donald Cuccioletta – Élections: Made in USA . In addition, I authored a blog on US politics from 2008-2013 with Macleans (online). Currently, I am a regular analyst on US politics for SRC (French CBC), and covered the Republican and Democratic conventions this past summer in Cleveland and Philadelphia respectively.”

Journalist Laura-Julie Perrault, International News, La Presse
«I started covering this election in January this year. It has been quite a rollercoaster ride in both the Republican and the Democratic camps, with outsider candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders rocking the establishment. As I've been traveling throughout the country, talking to people, one thing is clear: Americans are involved in this election like they have never been before. People who have never paid attention to the political process have the opportunity to become the deciding force. Are we afraid of too much democracy?»

Journaliste Laura-Julie Perrault, Nouvelles internationales, La Presse
